Acquiring

Direct acquiring where you sell most.

We hold our own acquiring licenses in the markets that matter to you and route the rest through licensed partners. Either way you sign one contract and read one ledger.

  • Local acquiring at launch in the US, UK, euro area, Brazil and Mexico (target)
  • Cross-border acquiring everywhere else, through licensed partners
  • One contract, one ledger, one dashboard
  • Approval rates you can see, per market and per method

  • Instant payouts to a card or local account, any day (target)
  • T+1 and weekly schedules on every account

Balance & FX

Hold the currencies you sell in.

Keep USD, EUR and BRL balances side by side. Pay suppliers in the currency you earned, or convert when the rate suits you — never because a payout forced you to.

  • Multi-currency balances with one ledger behind them
  • Settle in local currency or convert at mid-market plus your agreed markup
  • The rate is shown before you convert and locked for 30 seconds
  • Optional auto-convert rules per balance

Reconciliation

Every fee on one line.

A settlement statement that adds up without a spreadsheet: gross, interchange, scheme fees, our fee, refunds and the net that reached your bank — per payout, per day or per transaction.

  • Interchange, scheme fees and our fee itemized per transaction
  • Statements per payout, per day and per month
  • CSV, Excel and an API endpoint with the same numbers
  • Refunds and chargebacks netted on the line they belong to

Disputes

Disputes with the evidence already attached.

When a cardholder disputes a charge, the case opens with the receipt, the delivery proof and the customer history already in it. You review, add what is missing and submit from the same screen.

  • Reason codes translated into plain language
  • Evidence pre-filled from the order, the session and the shipment
  • Deadline tracking with reminders by email and webhook
  • Pre-dispute alerts so you can refund before a chargeback lands (target)

Also in Settle

The rest of the money side.

Everything that comes after the approval lives in the same ledger.

  • Instant payouts

Move funds to a card or a local account within minutes, any day of the week (target).

  • Negative balance protection

Refunds and disputes draw from Available first, then from pending funds. We never debit your bank without telling you.

  • Statements and exports

Daily, monthly or per payout — CSV, Excel and the API carry the same numbers.

  • Multi-entity

Separate balances, statements and payout accounts per legal entity, one login.

  • Tax reports

Country-specific reports for your accountant, generated from the same ledger.

  • Refund netting

Refunds net against the day's settlement, so nothing is clawed back from your bank later.

Questions

Questions about settling.

What does it mean that SparkIO is the acquirer?
An acquirer is the licensed institution that connects a merchant to the card networks and receives the funds on its behalf. Most gateways resell someone else's acquiring, which means another contract, another fee and another support queue. SparkIO acquires directly in its local markets and through licensed partners elsewhere, so you hold one agreement and your money lands in one ledger.
When do I get my money?
You choose. Instant payouts arrive within minutes (target); T+1 arrives the next business day and weekly arrives on Fridays. The schedule can differ per currency balance and you can change it at any time; what each one costs is part of the pricing we agree with you.
How does FX work?
Each balance holds its own currency. When you convert, or when a payout is in a different currency than the sale, we use the mid-market rate plus the markup in your pricing agreement, shown before you confirm and locked for 30 seconds. There is no spread hidden in the rate and no separate FX line that surprises you later.
Do you hold a reserve?
Most accounts run without one. Where the risk profile requires it — long delivery windows or annual subscriptions, for example — we agree a rolling reserve in writing before you go live, show it as its own line on the balance and release it on the schedule we agreed.
What happens when a customer disputes a payment?
The dispute appears in your dashboard and by webhook with the reason code, the amount and the deadline. We pre-fill the evidence we already have — receipt, shipment, customer history — and you submit from the same screen. The disputed amount is held, not debited, until the network decides.

Settle on your own terms.

Timing and currency are settings you change whenever you like. Your rate is agreed with you before you go live.
